BaF2 window
BaF₂ windows offer excellent transmission from the deep ultraviolet (200 nm) through the mid-infrared (12 μm) range, covering both UV and IR applications. As an alkaline earth fluoride crystal, BaF₂ provides superior radiation resistance compared to other fluoride materials, making it well-suited for demanding environments.
Key advantages include a low refractive index, minimal chromatic aberration, and broad spectral coverage in one component. BaF₂ is commonly used in UV-Vis spectroscopy, infrared optics, radiation detection, and excimer laser systems. It performs reliably across a wide operating temperature range.
At Spectro Optics, we supply high-quality BaF₂ windows with standard or custom coatings to meet your specific optical requirements.
