Window
Silicon window
Silicon windows are ideal for infrared systems requiring durability, thermal resistance, and high optical clarity. They are a cost-effective alternative to germanium in many mid-IR applications, especially where temperature stability and mechanical robustness are critical. It has half the density of Ge or ZnSe, of the highest hardness among IR materials, and more affordable.
